Thank you to all for the support of the Thomas G. Welch Memorial Scholarship fund.. The sponsorship’s, donations as well as time donated to support the scholarship is overwhelming. Because of the many generous donations and the unfailing support from so many wonderful people we would like to announce the 2021 Thomas G. Welch Memorial Golf Tournament will be the last.
No one expected the summer of 2020 to be so difficult. Please accept our sincere apologies. We took considerable time processing the current state of affairs with regard to the COVID-19 pandemic. As stated, ad infinitum, we are living in unprecedented and uncertain times. Life in Western New York sure was different this year. We had to take into consideration the many health, safety, and economic hardships that in our judgement made it inadvisable to hold “Tommy’s Last Round” aka 2020 Thomas G. Welch Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament. The potential for risk and harm for our players and the businesses just too great. We understand the decision may have been met with disappointment, but the safety and well-being of Tommy’s family and friends was our top priority.
Save the Date: Tommy’s Last Round will be July 24, 2021 at The Livingston Country Club.
We have reached the goal that will allow the Tom Welch Scholarship to help Dansville students for many years to come. On July 24, 2021 we would love to see lots of Tom’s family, friends, and colleagues come out and play one last round of golf in his honor.
Every donation is greatly appreciated. If you have not been able to donate and would like you can go to www.racf.org and search for the Thomas G. Welch Memorial Scholarship or mail a check to Thomas G. Welch Scholarship in care of the Rochester Area Community Foundation located at 500 East Avenue, Rochester NY, 14607. All donations are tax deductible. This year’s golf tournament will be held on July 24, 2021 at the Livingston Country Club in Geneseo, NY. We hope to see you there.
